The lock icon is the touch sensitive area you touch to lock the car. It's not a button you press hard.

If it's not working when you touch it then your finger(s) are too dry. Lick your finger and then touch the lock icon and the car will lock. Don't press hard or you'll crack it.

no one pressed hard! This is a car, not a crystal glass! no cracks should appear from pressing with a finger!

It's not a crack from pushing too hard. I think it's just the way it is manufactured. Some are more noticeable than others. My '21 Premium had it on all four doors (very noticeable) from the factory and I'm pretty sure no one before me was pressing that area really hard. My '21 GTPE also have it on all four doors but you have to look very hard to see it. That said, it certainly does not affect the way it operates since I have no issues locking the doors using the touch lock on the outside.

Now I understand. I thought so .. I wonder if someone made a claim to Ford and asked to be replaced under warranty? And why is there no recall?

Recalls are for safety issues.

There have been people that have had it replaced under warranty and not sure if they ended up with one that still shows this line or not. I personally don't think it is an actual crack but a manufacturing seam of some sort. Just my opinion. Again, it does not affect the performance of the lock button. It is just a visual issue.

I would expect this is exacerbated by the reliability of PaaK (not) working on the first button press. I don't exclusively use PaaK, but when I do its often two presses to get the drivers door to open.

Human nature would often be to assume maybe the first press wasn't hard enough and really mash the button on future attempts.

The button is quite sensitive and doesn't need to be pressed hard at all.

I got these last year and finally got around to installing them. Ironically the area between the lock icon and the door open button is not covered by the PPF.

Arrgh! Thanks for that info. Beast as an anti swirl mark or scratch (etc) use then.

We can’t use PPF out here, it pretty much fuses to the paint in this part of the world ( Ultra high uv light). I presumed it was a complete cover. Warranty claim I guess.
