This has been tested using a '21 build date Job 1 car that's up-to-date to include the most recent BCM and GFM updates which enable the frunk to be opened using the door keypad.

I purchased a Lightning key fob (PN NL3T-15K601-EC or Ford 164R8304) and using the two key fobs I already had programmed, I followed the instructions from the owner's manual (found also here ) and now have a key fob with a working frunk button.

Fobs are available at the Ford parts counter or a lot cheaper at keylessentryremotefob dot com Direct link to the correct fob here. Note; the -EC version of the fob shown here does not come with the key "blade". I swapped my original cut blade into this fob. The -EB version comes with the fob and a blank key blade.

EDIT: When doing the programming, if it doesn't work by following the instructions to have all doors closed....open the driver's door and try it again. I think the instructions may be wrong on that point.

Maybe, just maybe… There will be a 2023 MME key with 5 buttons and a correct-looking liftgate button? We can hope, right? ??

In the mean time, I need to save kibble for this one. ??

NIce. I wanted to try this, but couldn't find the part number. Looks like it's OOS everywhere at the moment.

Awesome discovery!

You should be able to swap out the Ford Logo for the Mustang Logo fairly easily. It's just a simple cover plate (same one you remove to get at the battery).

I can see myself getting one of these, if it ever gets back in stock...

Thanks for trying this. I’ve got one on the way. I was thinking about swapping the tailgate button with a trunk button from an old fob so that the picture is right. But it’s not obvious how the fob comes apart to get to the buttons.

That's awesome! I haven't seen if I can get my frunk to open via the keypad yet, so I guess I will do that first. Then as soon as this comes in stock, buying this!

Mike, glad to see this works! My Lightening key fob comes in tomorrow but I'll be out of town until the weekend so can't program mine until then.

It looks like the trunk button from the Mach E is a different shape than the tailgate button on the Lightning.
