DIY: Key Fob with Frunk Button !

Also want the tailgate button where the max defrost is but don’t feel like digging into that project.

The liftgate isn’t all that hard And that button is so freakin’ useful. ??

Anyone find an online Ford parts site that has a listing for NL3T-15K601-EB? The third party seller listed on the first post of this thread is OOS (gee I wonder how that happened), and no other Ford parts site appears to have it listed (perhaps because it's a new part for the Lightning?)

No and that is why I bit the bullet and ordered it at my local Ford dealer (5 day delivery).

I hope Ford comes out with the proper fob for 2023 models so we can just use that. This whole frunk fiasco/journey has been crazy.

So have you confirmed and set up an Escape FOB (which seems to have the same number of buttons, just different icons) to do the same thing?

That Lightning FOB is $200 (!?!?) probably before the dealer adds ADM (kidding). But seriously this sounds absolutely insane to me to pay that much for a key FOB -- but if I can use a pedantic Escape FOB I can probably find on eBay for $50 to do the same thing, I'm all in.

I think he means you could remove the rear hatch button from an Escape fob and put that in the Lightning fob to replace the rear gate button? Escape fobs are only about $50 it looks like, it would be an additional purchase with the lightning fob in order to have the correct button if you're OCD.

What’s the point of a fob with a Frunk button when you have to double pull a lever to open the Frunk? Thumb exercise?

Yeah, I have one of those, but I don't see an easy way to get it apart to remove the buttons without breaking it.

I'd consider doing that as I have 2 fobs now. However, that means I'd have to carry a fob which is a non starter for me.
