Does this have a big impact? Is it the electric bill? I'd think if you are buying a 50k car then what is the scope of the extra electricity costs? Or do you drive 250 miles a day and this becomes a deal breaker? Just trying to understand how this becomes an impact to people in this situation.
The efficiency or range have nothing to do with why I'm looking to upgrade from the ID.4. It's just a boring car to be honest. Nothing wrong with it per se... Although, if I'm going to actually upgrade to something, I would like it to have more range. I probably get around 225 on a full charge right now in the ID.4. That's more than fine for my normal driving but if I want to go some other places in SoCal, having the extra 45-50 mile range would make a difference between me needing to charge to 100% before leaving the house or having to stop and charge on the way home potentially. Day to day I only drive about 50 miles and charge at home so its a non issue. The Id.4 is just not super efficient once you go past 65 mph. I see people in all these range tests complain about ONLY 3.3-3.5 mi/kWh and here I am getting like 2.5 all the time..lol

Just asked local dealer about EV6, he said he expects 3 AWD GT-Line models in March, and I put my name on the list for one of them.

I'm still waiting to be scheduled for production from an Oct order. If I am not scheduled for production by the time this EV6 arrives, and the EV6 does not have any crazy last minute markups... I might be switching.

Premium AWD ext battery and GT-Line AWD both have similar range and similar 0-60 numbers. But the EV6 has:
+ quicker charging (not a huge deal to me)
+ vented seats, heated rear seats
+ sunroof opens
+ I think ground clearance is a touch higher?
- smaller storage spaces
- not as cool as the mustang

Am I missing other things?
Doesn’t the EV6 allow for running outbound power from the charger plug. I’ve seen a YouTube comparison of EV6 vs. Mach E.

The EV6 looked pretty good to me, except for the smaller cargo space and not having me as a stockholder.

If range is what you're looking for, check out the CA Route 1 trim. That's what I currently have and I can say the range and efficiency has been great. Depending on the weather and driving mix, I get anywhere from 330-370 miles on a full charge.

Thats just another boring car to him. When I owned the ID.4 RWD, I found the ride complaint but unexciting. It had no power, handled mushy with lots of body roll and oversteer/understeer.

A Mach-E Premium RWD Extended Range would be more fun. it handles better, has good acceleration and great range, provides premium audio, and includes hands free BlueCruise. Not as fast as AWD but still fun.

Kia dealer has a white ev6, gt-line RWD in. If I was going to get one, I would want AWD.... but this is what we noticed after seeing one in person (we did not test drive it).
  • The car looks better in person than it does in photos, and the rear end is not as bad as what you see in photos as well.
  • The interior seemed like more hard plastics, did not give off a luxury car vibe to my wife and I. It seemed like a nice car such as a toyota / honda that is setup well, but I did not get the impression this competes with Audi / volvo etc.
  • The rear space seemed a touch smaller than a mach-e, but very useable. I currently have an outback, and both cars are certainly smaller / less impressive than the outback for rear storage.
  • The tech setup seemed very practical / useable - especially the HUD. Where the mach-e you get in there and you see this massive screen - here things look and seem more normal. The radio / AC dials would not bother me, also you can control the radio stuff on the main larger screen,
  • The front trunk is a joke. It's hardly worth the effort to even have it. I'd look at charging cables in there but I'm not sure even that would fit.
  • The rear seating room is good, but the rear seats don't support your legs well. The front area fit like a glove for a 5-10 180lb person and a 5-5 wife. Not spacious, but also not cramped.
When I have seen the mach-e - I think to myself "that is a special car". It certainly has some worts like driving dynamics are bouncy and the 5-second limit... but you get a sense of passion from that car. The curves on it, it looks good.

The impressions from the EV6 is "that is a very practical car, that will do well in the market".

I suspect if I was able to test drive the EV6, especially the AWD one - I would think "that thing is a rocket".

Overall I'm less excited to get an EV6 - I would still end up seeing MachEs on the road and think to myself - "look at that sexy a$$ car." I would wonder if 55-60k on a kia is a great move. (I'm sure the kia warranty would do just fine... but right now my 10 yr old outback is a desirable car in Colorado)

Did you even read what I wrote? lol Range is just an added bonus, I'm not upgrading for more range. I ordered a Premium ER/AWD. Not interessted in the CA route 1 because I don't like the rims and I really prefer the white interior. That said, I'm probably going to end up with the AWD GT-Line EV6. I have serious doubts that my order will be ready by end of year at this point (ordered Feb 9th).

Traded MME for EV6, guys. Had to pay the markup, but traded 16k miles slightly dented MME for $1k below the price I paid a year ago for it taking the tax credit into consideration.
Wait for my subjective comparison.

I think it was Doug's review that pointed out how the EV6 screens make you toggle between music and climate controls, and you can't have both controls displayed at the same time. That's a daily use item that would make me crazy, especially since the toggle arrow is small. Might be tough to hit it while driving. I find that driving electric I regularly turn climate on and off to save battery, and of course switch Sirius stations regularly. Appreciate how the Mach-E has controls for both always on display. The EV6 does have some other great features though- I like how you're able to move it forward or backward slowly with the key fob. Styling is pretty nice too. Can't go wrong with either one.

I drove a GT-Line today. Very nice car, but there was not a ton of oomph when I hit the go pedal, like massive turbo lag. I did not look closely enough at the sticker to see whether it was RWD or AWD, etc. They were asking $10k ADM, so that coupled with a drive that was not at all engaging made it easy to walk away. Liked the HUD and ventilated seats. I’m pretty sure my GTPE will be a lot more fun if it ever gets here.
Probably RWD. Very underwhelming trim.

The AWD trim hauls. It's Tesla fast.

Yeah, I was underwhelmed. They wanted $62k for it.
That's a steal. I've been quoted $73K for the Wind AWD trim.. lol.

Wait for my subjective comparison.
Here is my 3-day switcher comparison. Please note I live in Seattle climate.
@Ford Motor Company , it can be useful for you.

Mach-E advantages:
  • Quicker.
  • Much better lane keeping assistant (and promised BlueCruise).
  • Much better sound system in Premuim trim.
  • Sound insulation is better.
  • Better headlights (projector LED vs reflector LED in EV6).
  • A bit cheaper.
  • More headroom.
  • Better rear vision through the glass.
  • Keypad entry.
  • It does come with a charger :)
EV6 advantages:
  • 800v battery and faster charging rate.
  • More efficient in terms of energy consumption.
  • Heat pump.
  • Traditional sunroof instead of fixed glass roof.
  • Towing ability.
  • Crossbar installation support.
  • V2L capability (120v output from main battery).
  • Better interior design:
    • Much better seats (I'm a big guy).
    • Feels like a glove.
    • Sharp edges of the infotainment screen and phone tray do not stick into my knee!
  • Much better infotainment:
    • Excellent screen layout (you don't just stick iPad on the front panel!).
    • Snappy interface, no lags.
    • Better steering wheel controls.
    • Buttons!
  • Better and more reliable app.
  • No quality problems yet.
    • Everything just works.
    • All features I need are not just promised, they already implemented (full screen CarPlay).
    • No freaking instrument cluster buzz.
  • Better dealership experience. Sorry Ford, your dealers are really pulling you back.
  • Deeper cargo area.
  • No "muscle car" appearance. This is IMHO, I'm not a muscle car guy.
  • More pleasant backup beeper, less aggressive propulsion sound.
I know frunk is a big deal for Ford. On EV6 there is just a really small box. But actually, frunk on Mach-E frunk is almost useless given the problems it have closing the hood (not fixed by dealership!!!).

I switched mainly because of quality problems in Mach-E and dealership experience. EV6 fits me better I think, through it's not without its own disadvantages.
EV6 feels like a finished product, Mach-E is like a prototype.

I prefer the Mach-E infotainment and screen but I can see why you listed the above since you had a Job 1 First Edition with all the bugs and issues. I never owned a Job 1 build so I can’t compare. Job 2 build had very few issues to me except profile syncing never worked.

Job 2 frunk opened/shut without issues for me and I also had app control to open it. Crazy how Ford didn’t resolve all Job 1 build issues first. Owners don’t even have BlueCruise (which is fantastic by the way).

I quite liked the EV6 interior and has no issues with the nav/AC touch buttons. If my GTPE gets delayed I’m buying an EV6 immediately:)
