Are you not able to turn off the Distance Indication setting in the Driver Assistance Menu? I recently discovered I could get the full screen graphics in my 2024 by disabling lane keep and the distance indication. Glorious full screen animations on the driver display. Once I turn on cruise control though, the car graphic comes back on.
No, this doesn't work for me on my 22 GT.

Dang, sorry. I was really surprised to find it on mine, hoping you might experience the same. So does yours just show the car with no colored indicators (like the distance indicator rectangle, lane keep lines, etc.) when all those systems are turned off then?

The idiotic gear shift - what were they thinking? Apparently solved now in the 2025 facelift, but for everyone else since 21:

Ford Mustang Mach-E Forget about the bugs, what "feature" annoys you most? 1738101184184-ol

Unlike pretty much every other 'wheel'-based gear selector in any car, the Mach-E does NOT have P at the centre of the dial. Instead, the near-useless L (& especially for many of us who prefer & use 1PD).

Meaning, mostly, it is near impossible to do a three point turn without looking at and faffing with the gear selctor. Useful convention would have R at one end & D at the other & P in the middle. As it stands, we often get a huge 'clunk' in the 3 point turn rotation by inadventenly shifting into P at the far left of the selection.

Stupid & awful.

Only 2024 and later Mach-e’s can have a centered speed in the IPC. The only exception is cars that never upgraded to 6.8. There are precious few of those.

Turning off the various ADAS features just gets rid of the pretty lines and bubbles, nothing else.

The solution is to wait on Ford to push an update changing it back (NotSoon™) or use Forscan.

Gotcha. What a convoluted mess for Ford to be maintaining so many different versions of software.

If you go to the Energy tab in FordPass when are plugged in there is a start button and a slider. You can use the slider to set target charge level for that charge session. You may or may not have to press the start button after changing the slider.
Has that always been there? I've only owned my car since Nov. '24 and I didn't remember seeing that option. If so, thanks! I'd overlooked it.

The requirement to tap on "VEHICLE" to get to a screen where the trunk and frunk buttons are located.

Why are they not always on the screen located in the band at the top?!?!?!

The idea that you have to switch out of car play, android auto, or any other app just to open the trunk or frunk......poor design, that can be easily fixed.
Agreed, I always use my key-fob now becuase of this.

All these are software design issues that can be modified and deployed to our cars, Ford willing.

But there are a few bad decisions that can't be OTAed - no tow points in the rear, no way to open any door if the 12V battery fails but is still alive, and no easy access to this battery to jump it or reboot the whole system.

I know that people add the battery access points and tie the string to the door handle to overcome the design shortcomings, but it is not a good excuse to have them in the first place.
Yes, how hard could it have been to simplay allow 12v battery terminals to be accessed through a couple of holes in the giant plastic cover?

I also dislike the walk away honk that can't be disabled in the settings. I have Forscan and plan on disabling it, I just haven't done it yet.

I can mess with the radio all I want when driving, but I can't search or navigate the music on my USB drive?

No way to turn off the start up and exit sounds. Can't my car just be quiet when I turn it on or off?

The ridiculously loud backup beeper. It has been cold so I haven't tried any of the work arounds to tone it down.

The following aren't bugs, and are probably more a lack of features than features. But they still frustrate me.

The lack of an energy use history and graph of usage. What is included on "This Trip" and the trip meter is pretty spartan compared to every other EV I've owned. Even the Bolt's tracking rate of kW-hr every 5 mi was better than what we have. Tesla's usage graphing is nice as you could visually see how you were under or over your calculated consumption during a trip and make adjustments to your driving.

No easy way way to start charging now to XX%, you have to edit your Home settings or use the app and monitor and stop charging. Correct me if I'm wrong and there's a way to make the car start charging immediately to a certain percentage and stop. Other EVs I've owned easily let you do this.

The non-GT models don't have a power/regen meter. I plan on enabling this too with Forscan, but it is about worthless compared to other EVs. The Bolt's meter gives energy being used and put back, as does Tesla.

There's lots of things I do really like, much much more than I dislike. So don't take this as a blanket hate fest on the car.

(Edit to correct something I wasn't aware of.)
Loud backup beeper sure, and impossible to hear indicator volume; like soem other cars this should have a volume control and even a selection of tones.

While we're at it, surely a 12v battey level guage; even my old, much cheaper MG ZS EV had this basic feature.

Yes. Owners do have the ability to turn off updates as well and some have. That compounds things. It's further compounded by the legacy module situation. Ford isn't entirely responsible for the firmware/software that the modules use. That responsibility lies with the various module manufacturers as well, there is an immense amount of back and forth before an update even gets pushed to Ford's internal test fleet let alone to Early Access and everyone else.

The module situation is supposed to change with the next gen mme. How that shakes out with the tariff uncertainties is anyone's guess though.

Has that always been there?
No, it's relatively new.

That stupid f'ing "Predictive Speed Assist". Who in their right f'ing mind at Ford thought this would be a good idea to leave on by default? Did they even drive the goddamn car down the interstate with this enabled??? Surely not because if they did they would have realized just how bad it is.

The fact that I cant use the keyboard or most of sync while driving. Sure, its a safety thing, but Tesla has it. How did they get around it and Ford cant or wont? Im not using the crappy voice system and im not pulling over, ill just pull out my phone and use that instead.
While this is an easy fix it will cost you $200. Add the Naviks Lockout Bypass. I have done this on the last 5-6 cars I've owned including my '24 Mach-E. There is a thread around here where I posted photos of how to do it.
