The 'included' Mobile Charger has served me well for 26k miles so far.

But if you really want to buy one, there are lots of Level 2 available if you want a hardwired unit.... Hardwire will enable slightly faster charging up to 48amps, but I would recommend setting it to no more than 32amps to reduce chances of charge port overheating. Overnight at 32 amps is plenty fast enough for most situations for home charging.

Top rated brands to consider might be Grizzl-e, Clipper Creek, Emporia, JuiceBox.... etc. Don't go super cheap! make sure the unit is UL listed, and wired correctly with 6AWG conductors

I also went with a Grizzl-E, the basic version, at 40A. I got it on the United Chargers website.

I wanted something that was simple and reliable and to run all the charging scheduling through the Ford apps. I also went with a NEMA 14-50 socket so I can easily swap the charger in the future.

I don’t own one of these, but based on what I’ve read and researched, plus all the comments herein, I’d buy an Emporia if I was in the market for an EVSE right now.

My Grizzl-E is the same configuration and started having over temp issues after 9 months. United Chargers replaced it quickly (less than a week) and professionally under warranty without any hassles. Truly what you hope a company would do that stands behind its products.

I've been using the Pulsar plus Wallbox for the last 2 years and it just failed on me. Wallbox remoted in and determined it was bad and sent me a new one that I received in less than 3 days. Provided shipping label for return. Pretty pleased with customer service

Before you do anything, see if your utility company sells discounted units or provides rebates.

Mine pays $500. Buying a $300 EVSE would be stupid, I would be giving up $200. And they wanted specific brands and models.

Some EVSEs have intelligence, they provide capabilites and data. For example, I can set charging hours. Comes in handy when the vehicle decides to charge outside of the set hours, and the EVSE won't let it.

My two JuiceBox 48s load share a 60amp circuit. Great feature, and between $500 rebates and 30% tax credit each cost me under $100...

Yes, I get a 500 rebate on any charger as long as it’s energy star certified
