- 2023.5 Mach-E
Ford discontinued the Gen13 F150 in 2020.
The Gen14 came out in 2021.
If you owned a Gen13 and then acquired a Gen14, you were likely shocked at just how much Ford changed the vehicle. Ford stated that 83%(?) was completely new parts and design.
It was not an exaggeration.
I say that to say that I don't expect Ford to continue to build the same vehicle I just purchased for much longer. (2023 Mach-E GTPE)
But Ford is not shying away from the direction they chose to go that led to their very first dedicated EV platform. But it is their first, so it's taught them SO much. I'd be shocked if the next version of what the MachE is today doesn't differ as much as the 2020-2021 F150 did.
All conjecture, of course.
And no matter what they do, I still think they got way more right with this first gen EV than they missed. Especially considering how rapid the worldwide technology is advancing.
Isn’t this like the IPhone 3 era of EV explosion? Maybe IPhone 4 at best?
The first real legit smartphones, which led to the plateu of advancement we are at today.
It's a remarkable time for the industry and the consumer.
