FDRS was not down yesterday, so that’s not a good start.
It could be THEIR FDRS was down, maybe their IT was updating to latest version or someone forgot to renew the license

I didn’t think it was. I let my friend know that’s a salesman there. He came in a checked on me while I was there.

I'm also a victim of the dealer failure to update. They spent 3 days trying to install 21G01 but no luck. They said it finished but no BC. They contacted the hot line which gave them "newer" software to load but no luck. Also part of the hassle is that the time difference to the west coast. By the time my dealer figures out that the update didn't work all of the hot line folks have gone home for the day. When they call in the morning at 7am PDT it's mid morning in Detroit an they're all busy and will call back later. Creates a very disjointed process.

Aside: As a result of the updates they applied my automatic lane centering no longer works. I can turn it on and off but other than getting the green brackets it never blooms into a semi-circle.

Service Manager for my dealership just sent me an email an hour or so ago:

@BadgerGreg's car is taking all our time. Can we reschedule? :p

Seriously, he pointed out that they've done a few and all have failed the first time, and have taken multiple days to finally get done. I'm verifying whether this was before the latest FDRS update and the BlueCruise maps update or not. Not bringing it in if they feel confident of failure. His call.

Got confirmation that my rep printed out my email for the foreman. But it’s now 12:15pm and no one has touched my car. If she hasn’t moved by 2pm, I think I’m just gonna go pick her up and pray to the OTA gods or bring it back when things get figured out. 5 days is long enough for me without her.

Well the latest FDRS version (31.6.7) seems to have fixed my stuck at Sync revision 358 issue. I plugged my car in yesterday after the new version came out and was presented with a nice new GWM update. I did the initial attempt at updating to BC on April 2 and was stuck with a GWM and APIM one version short.

The only hiccup that I experienced was that I never got a "Update Successful" message on the SYNC touchscreen after performing the GWM update but after waiting 15 minutes with the car off and then another 10 minutes with the car on (Ignition ON, Engine ON). I just went ahead ahead FDRS with a Yes to the "Was the update successful" message and the modules validation step completed successfully.

A new APIM update was then available (sort of small at only 864MB). That installed without any issues and after a double APIM Reset in FDRS, it looked like BlueCruise was available.

All of the options in SYNC said it was successful and I was able to find a BlueZone close to me and do a test drive. Eight miles of "Hands Free" blue background instrument cluster told me the long journey from stuck 1.7.1 to BlueCruise was over. Success.

Unlike some others I have not received any email from Ford or messages in the FordPass app saying that BC is active, but it was fully functional during the initial test drive so hopefully that email is coming but i'm not holding my breath since I don't seem to get any emails from Ford and the only thing I seem to get in the FordPass app is "You car has changed to the desired level" messages.
This is great news. I suspect there is some "magic" going on in Fords servers as well. I hope to do the the same process this weekend. I'm working out the power supply today. wish me luck.

At this point, knowing what I know now I'd suggest they suit up, connect up, and do any GWM and TCU updates, and then promptly proceed to do all the updates called out on page 5 of CSP 21P22 before doing anything on 21G01. I would be willing to bet that the process would go through without a hitch.

And that even means if they think that 21P22 is already closed out in their system for this vehicle, to go back and re-read it, and see if any of those modules are still outstanding, and do them before doing anything else.

They said to bring it in.

I am confident that 21P22 was done in its entirety, because I had a forum member check FDRS.

Glad to see my car is getting all this attention :)

My service rep told me they could do it (BlueCruise software update), but it would take 8 hours. I mentioned that since my car will likely be in the shop for at LEAST a few days it shouldn't be a big problem and he agreed.

Hahaha! My dealer is onto that ploy! When I called this morning, after first trying to deny the existence of the letter, they changed their tune to “we are studying what is required to do this and will call you back once we have it figured out.” ?????
Perfect save for them - they can’t be accused of denying to do it (because they didn’t), and trying to escalate is equally useless (we’re still figuring it out so that we do not break people’s cars ?)
I’d like to nominate my dealer’s service department for the passive-aggressive response reward ?????
My dealer currently has the car doing the glass but would no do the BC Update. Am I alone in wanting to use the "Remote Horn Honk" just for fun?
