Hiya

Can’t help with all your queries as I don’t have a home charger, so that’s one area I’ll defer to someone else. I can help with a couple of the others…..

Dotted lines on Navigation (breadcrumb trail)
This is customisable option you can turn on or off yourself. I think it defaults to “on” from the factory. To switch it off…

Open Navigation App
Open the Options Menu
Tap “Settings”
Tap “Map Layers”
Scroll down the list and de-select “Trip Log”
… and your dotted lines should disappear :)

I have screenshots if it helps - but these are from the latest version of Sync which looks a bit different from the menus most of you are using.

Panoramic roof works
Big Red is being picked up by the dealership at 8.30am tomorrow (Wed 12th) to have this done. I’ll report back what kind of job they make of it ?

Hope this helps

Good luck with your roof repair tomorrow. It'll be interesting to see how you get on. My dealer is doing his demo next week but I am away the week after so looks as if mine will be done w/c 31st. Be nice to hear if your dealer had any "snags" that you can pass on. Hopefully not though, obviously.

Perhaps it's just me but I like my dotted lines :) All pray for Big Red  Don't forget before photos for possible evidence of damage afterwards.

Hi,

Many thanks for your help - I didn't realise it was an option so will check it out and turn it off tomorrow ?

Yes, it will be "interesting" to see the outcome of this ..... you're a braver man than me, and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you ?

Cheers,
David

PS: Anyone here with Dinnages Ford in Brighton, who might have booked their recall with them?

I've booked my Mach E in for the panoramic roof recall and the software updates on 1st February (at TrustFord, Dagenham). Will feedback on how it goes!

In the meantime, I've had to book chips away in to short one corner of my car after someone bashed me while parked! Minor damage (pic below), but want to keep this car looking good!!

Hi all,

And a belated Happy New Year ?

As it's a New Year, I thought I would check out some issues I've had for a few months now (having had the car for 7 months and 4,000+ miles)!

Ford Pass App - Charging schedule
This no longer shows the Charge times I have set up - I have set both "time windows" but the app shows nothing (as per the image) although the car does show them correctly.

I am 90% sure the Ford Pass App used to show the times you had set (similar to the fact it shows any Departure Times). Can anyone confirm this please?

I guess not everyone will use the FPA to schedule charging (?) but sadly - having bought the Ford Wallbox Charger - this is the only way (outside of the car itself) to set a charge schedule ?

The other issue (which I also have reported) is that with the FPA you can only charge "on the hour" - not great when the Octopus Go EV tariff is from 00:30 to 04:30!

Navigation - shows dotted line from earlier journeys
I think this was discussed elsewhere but couldn't find any references via the search option, so apologies if I have missed something here.

If I happen to retrace any journeys, the Navigation often shows a "dotted line" showing the previous route/journey.

Does anyone else have this, and any thoughts on how to stop this e.g. should I reset the main SYNC screen?

Other than the above, I am dreading the various pano/windscreen recalls. Having seen the TSB "instructions" (many thanks @Wonky_Donkey ) I am not very confident the car will be returned in an "as new" condition - so will be taking various photos before it goes in ..... haven't plucked up the courage to book it in yet ?

I have also suffered the "brakes sticking" on a few occassions as I predominantly use OPD (easy enough to free them by braking) so my rear disks are somewhat scarred, so may add this to my "recall list"!

Many thanks for any help,
Best wishes,
David

Interesting re your reference about the rear discs.

I never use OPD but my rear brakes usually stick on momentarily most mornings when I go out. The rear discs look savaged- Years ago when I used to be a tech, I would've replaced them, no question. This has occured in 1800 miles!.

I've reported it to my dealers and it's on the list of things to be done/looked at when I can get it booked in for the recalls.

I had mine booked in tomorrow for the roof / windscreen, software updates and brake pad / discs replaced.

Call from the dealer tonight… parts have not arrived!

They have also told me they are not a Mach E service centre but I don’t think many are? They are very helpful and customer focused which is better than most dealers! ??

Hope that Big Red goes on OK.

I'm so glad I don't have a pano roof! As they are presumably waiting for stock of spare windscreens I haven't heard from my dealer yet about that part of the recall. As my car was in this week for the replacement 12v battery they've also been doing the software updates that are normally being done as part of the recall... but 3 of my modules are refusing to update so they've now had my car for three days instead of the planned two days, and no sign of progress!

Booked mine in a week or so ago for the Pano roof recall. Earliest date given was the 7th Feb for 3 days with a courtesy car as standard. A blank reaction from the service desk when the rear discs were mentioned and a blank again when asked about any software updates.
My rear discs after 1500 miles look as if they have done thousands more. They do clean up a bit if I do a series of really heavy braking. Front discs look ok, so maybe the brake balance is set incorrectly resulting in the bulk of the brake force going to the front.

Yeah - front windscreen recall is very much on hold at the moment - so they’re clearing down all the re-glue Pano roof tweaks while they can.

I think mine is finished. I’ve been keeping a close eye on it remotely using the Scriptable widget. I could see what doors and windows were open, if the frunk was open etc. Looks like yesterday was roof day, today was software updates, it’s now moved to their site where they do valeting and it’s on charge as well. Will maybe get a washed and charged vehicle back today? … might be tomorrow morning. Then we can see what state my headliner is in and how it all looks :)

today was software updates
My car is still no further software-wise after 4 days! The dealer says he's using the latest version and is blaming an error in the software, but what I don't understand is why others including yours are updating okay - if the software was at fault everyone's updates would fail! It is now with Ford USA as Ford UK haven't got a clue what's going on!

Sorry for the delayed update - got a call from the dealership late this afternoon saying they were almost done, and would be returning the car back to me tomorrow morning.

The reason I didn’t get it back today was becuase they have “one more software update to apply”. I suspect that this is the IPMA module (which is a huge update).

This is the same update I couldn’t complete on New Years Day, and the one that is widely reported as failing due to a bug in the current version of FDRS (the Ford Diagnostic system used to apply software updates)

So @Smuddell - I don’t think your dealership is telling you lies, and I think my dealership may not be aware of the FDRS issue with v3.5.3. and are just persistently trying.

Side note - I have just checked the Ford Motorcraft website and it looks like FDRS has been updated to v3.5.6 this week which will hopefully fix these issues.

We’ll see in the morning!

One more thing... I learned today some more details regarding the upcoming windscreen recalls (not roof)

If your car has a pano roof - they will not attempt to remove and then put back the same windscreen. You will get a brand new windscreen in all cases.

This work will be outsourced to a company like Autoglass and will not be completed by the dealership (although the dealership will arrange everything for you) and it will be the same deal with free dealer pickups and courtesy cars etc.

Situation for non pano roof Mach-E's has not been confirmed.

Here's a reminder. If you are soon to take delivery of your mache and want the extended warranty you can only arrange it on or before you take delivery.

Warranty purchases are not possible once you leave the showroom with your new car!

I heard that the issue with the windscreen recall is that there is a problem with the heating element in some screens and that they are having to check what stock they have to make sure that they are good to go. No point in putting in a duff screen and then having to change it again.
