As far as I know, there are only two ways to get the battery to precondition:
1. Set a departure time
2. Set the nav to a DCFC and be within ~13 miles of it

Does it warm the battery if not plugged in? I have a 2023 Select. Departure times are cumbersome for me as my use varies a lot. Not too interested in conditioning the interior as I live in Alabama, for example this AM it’s 37 F. Would turning on say 30 min before driving help range?
It just takes 1-2 min to set departure time from FordPass. And then after 30 min your battery is warmed. You just have to remember to turn it off after.

I do try to set departure time if I know a time. It is just a hassle. Then I have to remember to turn it off. Guess took 3 years for drunk button to work. Maybe 3 years more they could add pre condition button.
Drunk button??

Will battery preconditioning occur after setting departure times if the car is plugged into 120v vs 240v? Thanks.

30km, 18.6 miles.

Not correct. Battery preconditioning with a departure time can take well over an hour, even close to 90 minutes, depending on the temperature.

No, it will not. Not enough power.

Regardless, what I suggested is a functional equivalent of "Precondition Now" button.

For those of us who don't live in frozen tundra festooned with moose droppings (including OP), 30 min should be enough. And when it's not 30 min is better than 0 min.

Not necessarily “conditioned” but the battery would be warmed up by whatever amount of heat is produced by the charging process. I have no idea what that is for L2 charging. Preconditioning, obviously, uses the heating system to bring the batteries up to a certain temperature. I suspect that temp is greater that that which you would achieve by charging an additional 10kW.
Anyone with experience in hot weather? Do we have the same problem as we do in cold weather (but reversed of course)? Any tips on hot weather driving?
