3/14/22 Build Week Gang

I see the activate button in the FordPass app now.

The strange thing is that someone reported 1762 modules for the CA Rt1 RWD on delivery. I only have 954 modules now. However, the shipped and delivered module count seems to have a huge discrepancy, wonder why.

I'm not sure on module count, it seams to be all over the place. Some say lower number until delivery, some say GTPE 1004 goes to 1822 then is built/shipped. Someone said there is a "Transportation Mode" that keeps the number low prior to shipping.

I'm not sure anyone has a solid grasp of what all that means.

My suspicion, with all the weird patterns in activation, No "Build/Shipping" indications from our week, earlier vehicles from Jan/Feb moving to "Built/Shipped", that we too are in a chip hold.

We are witnessing, the delicate dance of keeping the line running, while continuing to chip earlier builds.

There are some built/shipped vehicles in our week (via dealer stock), specifically only in the first batch. Hopefully we are all still in the factory and not sent to the holding lot. Seems that would doom us to a few weeks/months of delays, and there are additional shutdowns in Shenzhen and the earthquake in Japan that will affect chip availability in a few weeks that could make things even worse.

I know right? I'm trying to imagine what our cars look like, a shell, non-painted without windows, windows, hood, wheels, if it can drive off, it would be mostly finished.

How does missing chips get put into a vehicle, are most of them under the hood, can they do this outside, do they return them to the line, then finish them.

LOL, I'm obsessing.

I would imagine if they are being built then all the required inventory to finish the build is already in the factory and in stock. Otherwise why build especially as some chips are encased and buried under seats and whatnot such that you have to install during the build…. Hopefully that is the case

I just hit the pattern that the ford tracker does not display anything for my VIN/Order.

For dealer stock with build week 3/7:

12 built and shipped, 2 built last night, 8 still in production - this gives me a bit of hope, since 2 of them took ~1 week to get to built status last night, means they didn't send last week's cars to the holding lot for now.

Seems the 1st build day got through mostly unscathed (same day or next day built status), and then the 2nd build day broke down (built status took 4-8 days). 3rd and 4th days mostly still in production.

Me, too. I hope these several activate notices is a good sign because it seems goofy to do that for cars headed to the parking lot for weeks to months chip hold.
