If mileage is your thing then go for the Premium with extended battery. Even before I changed my wheels I wasn't finding anything close to what Ford tried to say the Ca. Rt. 1 would get. Thanks so much for all of this info. I'll think it all over.
The mileage difference was one of my big things. In the summer I regularly drive 120 miles up to Wisconsin. I need to be sure that I can make it up and back without any significant charging time, if needed. Most of the time I stay overnight so I can charge but occasionally I go there and come back in the same day.
If the mileage really isn't that much different then that may change my decision.
That's interesting. Good to hear some real world experience. If mileage is your thing then go for the Premium with extended battery. Even before I changed my wheels I wasn't finding anything close to what Ford tried to say the Ca. Rt. 1 would get.
the mileage difference is in the 18" wheels on the Ca Rt1 vs 19" wheels on the premium trim so you can optimize that portion later if you decide on the premium. the battery and drivetrains are the same when comparing like-to-like ER/SR and RWD/AWD.That's interesting. Thanks. Similar weather/temperature here so it's good to know.I live in Minneapolis and I am so glad that I went for CR1. I think I wouldn't trade the extra range that I get for any of those extra features in premium trim (specially because the range drops in the winters and those extra few miles can be important for occasional road trips in winters). The fact that you get that extra range for less money sealed the deal for me.
I hear you. I am in the Chicago suburbs as well and ordered a premium with AWD.Thanks very much. I'm in Chicago suburbs and I have a friend who had a Mustang 25 years ago and was driving around with sandbags in the trunk. I do understand that was with the engine in the front and the Mach-E has a much more balanced weight. But I'd still feel more comfortable with AWD.
For what it’s worth, I ordered a CA RT 1 and thought I would miss the power lift gate, but there are several threads on here about it opening when it shouldn’t, so now I am glad to not have that feature. This is a huge help, thanks. Exactly what I was looking for.
nvabill did a great job summarizing the diffèrences. I’ve had both. I upgraded to the Premium. I wanted a better sound system, passenger electric seats, power lift gate, light grey interior, and non-black wheels. I felt the price difference was well worth it. Real world range is very similar as is overall driving/riding experience.Glad to help and I will add that I have zero regrets buying the Rt. 1 over a Premium.
Thanks and I will say I wish I had the lighter interior, the black is really hard to keep clean.nvabill did a great job summarizing the diffèrences. I’ve had both. I upgraded to the Premium.
