FordPass App 5.7.0 Released

Unfortunately, the remote frunk release requires a Bluetooth connection.hence its hidden button. Woukd be nice though.

the watch just displays and sends commands to the app on the phone - what does a bluetooth (really PaaK) requirement have to do with providing a frunk/trunk/window control?

yes, the applet on the watch should "hide" the the controls when PaaK isn't available for whatever reason but making it available should be doable.

hence, why i asked in the forum ford definitely looks to for all the absolute best ideas in improving their products and outright ignoring them. ?

Sideloaded the APK hoping to the android wear app but it doesn't change anything in Google play. Should I side load the watch APK? Is that out there?

So, I was finally able to download FP 5.7.0 on my Pixel 9, but I can't figure out how to get the app on my PW3. Play Store says it's not compatible with the watch. ?‍

Not a Ford thing, but app updates on Android can work the same way where it isn't all rolled out at once. I'm sure you'll get it sometime soon. I've see it on other apps with other companies.

Thanks. I expect you are right, but I can't imagine why Google would do something like that. Surely, the tiny little FordPass app is not going to tax their systems even if all of the few thousand FordPass users updated simultaneously. Seems like a pointless annoyance to Play Store users...

It's very commonplace in IT to stairstep deployments in order to avoid having a widespread issue and making sure your update is all good, and to be able to handle issues if they do come up without everyone calling in at the same time and overwhelming IT support. A prime example of why you'd want to stairstep is the Crowdstrike update that broke computers and servers globally which took down a lot of companies and impacted travel, stores, etc. that people use day to day.

When I got the extended warranty from Granger, I was told that after couple days, it would show up in FordPass. I never checked and now it is not there.

Mine updated Friday night even though 5.7 wasn't showing as available in play store. Also giving the temperature adjustment screen when remotely activating the climate. Nice update.
