Kendall Ford in Eugene Oregon did 1-yr and 2-yr annual servicing as well as numerous firmware updates, replacement of faulty modules (to get my electronic frunk release to work) for my 2021 MME FE for free. I didn't even buy it from them. Kind of shocked to hear what other dealers are charging...

My dealer even suggested I use the points so it would be free.

Whether a dealership charges for servicing, or what they charge for servicing, is a dealership decision. That's why it varies.

If a dealership is replacing / updating modules under warranty, they can't charge you.

There is no such thing as preserving the warranty by having the dealership do service for you. This point gets made again and again, but it's simply wrong.

I went to Gene Butman Ford in Ypsi for my interval servicing twice, and they were quick, priced at $27 (I just redeemed my points), picked up and dropped off my vehicle from my home, and performed all the required S/W updates when they had my MME. I'd surely recommend them (I hope it's not them that quoted you this insane price).
Thanks for that info. It was not them, it's Briarwood Ford in Saline. I'll check out the place in ypsi.

They has to fiddle with the things to replace a $10 air filter and switch to summer air in the tires.

I brought my car in for a tire rotation at 10K. Just checked my invoice. It was $19.95 for the tire rotation and they updated BC maps and an HVAC module at no charge. So $130 does seem quite high.

The Ernhart Ford ALWAYS screwed up my 'service' on my FFE. I'd bring it in for the tire rotation. Why you ask? Because Discount seemed to destroy these stupid capped lugs at were 17.37546774mm. So every 3rd free Discount rotation cost me a set of lugs if I ever wanted to take the tires off. SO I take it to E. Ford. They charge me $39.98 for an oil change and rotation. What oil in said EV got changed folks? "Oh yeah sorry about that we only have 1 code. I'll credit you back" Which usually cost 2 or 3 more phone calls days later when it wasn't credited. Sadly they have to be rotated as it's FWD.

Dealership wants to charge $130 for the 10k maintenance for my mach e. Is this for real? I've seen other posts show $20 or $30. I'm in SE MI (Ann Arbor area). This is the dealer I bought the vehicle from, should I avoid them for this service?

Seems reasonable to me, except for the 6 month/5K miles part.

I'm in So Cal and my dealer quoted me like $115 for both 10k and 20k service, both online scheduler pricing and on the printout when I dropped off the car. Dropping off the car for the 10k though they told me something like "but it will probably be cheaper."

Sure enough, both 10k and 20k service were $20-$25 out the door.

Dealerships make most of their income from servicing cars, not selling them. They are rightfully nervous about the EV revolution, as it will radically alter the dealership business model. Charging for needless 10k and 20k services is a way to mitigate or delay that inevitable outcome.

mine 10k service was 28$ , which cover all inspection and tire rotation. the service advisor told me if i have jack and tool, i can do that at home
