I am having a weird issues need advice

1. I live in SoCal where the coldest it has been is maybe 40 degrees. not cold. I picked it up in LA and it said 100% charge and 211 miles on an FE with the extended battery. dealer said that it has to learn how you drive. I have now driven 300 miles and the most I can get to is 231. No where close to the 270. is this normal or is this a calibration issue?? Dealer is clueless
Did you clear the EV history before you started? You might want to do that now to start the range from scratch.

2. I got into my car this morning and new things showed up on my dash like the distance feature between me and the car in front with a blue line, 'get to close and it goes red. Have not seen this before.
Normal. Nice feature, too.

also ALL of my radio presets went back to factory settings. Is there a way to know when an update occurred???
Can't answer that one.

270 is likely achievable under the best conditions: warm temps (65-80F), and mostly lower speeds (<50 MPH), and without cabin heat & A/C. I betcha in May you'll probably see around 270 if driving mostly lower speeds.

But if you're using heat, that'll chip away some. If you're driving highway speeds, that'll chip away some. Plus the "Range" meter is known to estimate conservatively. A better estimate is often taking your miles/kWh number and multiplying by usable battery capacity (88 kWh). 3.1 miles/kwh x 88 = 273 miles range. That's really your target -- watching to see if you're achieving 3.1 miles/kWh on average.

Yes. I know I saw that in one of the videos, but I don't have it handy. It was intuitive though. Just go to the screen that has the updates (probably "System" or something like that) and fiddle around in there. I've seen it show update status.

Edited: Found it...

While warming the battery is an interesting idea, Ford engineers have indicated the issue is not weather-related. I'm sure having the batteries cold (or frigid in some cases) doesn't help, it also won't solve the problem.
so..... what IS the primary problem according to the Engineers you have poking around your car?

It sure SOUNDS like a sensor/dc-dc/charge controller/programming issue that is disabling the HV charge of the LVB when needed. The secondary question I 'd guess is what is draining the LBV so fast that it needs to be topped up overnight. I appreciate your postings and updates.... can't wait to hear what the actual problem turns out to be and what the fix is!

There is a screen where you can check if any OTA updates are available. For non-OTA updates, make sure your dealer know about this one:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Deep Sleep Mode - 12v battery drained dead [update: Mach-E jump started] e98c80ec-4ffd-40f7-ab7f-bcfbd610bf01-png.4384

I have no idea how you drive so I will stay away from the range question.

Look at adaptive cruise control in the manual for your blue and red squares.

Are you in your profile each time your stations disappear?

Update: Car => Settings => General

Thank you, yes thats what I mean.
@dbsb3233 : sometimes you can charge a battery from a Cigarette lighter port, that is always on. Do we have that on the MME?
Easier than removing the frunk panels!

That would be cool. But I think I heard someone that has an MME say that the lighter plug times out, unfortunately.

Doesn't even time out: When you turn the car off the plug goes off.

Its hard to fathom though that all issues related to LBV in some way have come from cold weather places. Coincidence? Or early cars with issues made it to cold places first? DOnt recall much of these from say FL or CA but again I could be wrong and may not be keeping up with all posts.

No that was not mentioned. However, since they are actively monitoring this forum, I would encourage anyone experiencing the issue to post on here to raise more awareness. I know I would not tolerate that on my own vehicle. Ford really, really wants the Mach-E to succeed so any widespread issues will get high-level attention.
This is what happens when you make a vehicle so quiet. I tried to measure the sound level. At the screen it didn't register on the sound meter I used, which means it was less than 50 dB. I have a better meter than measures down to 30 dB. When I get a few minutes I'll try that. It may measure less than that and I doubt I'd be able to pick it up if the meter is placed where your head would be when seated, even if the sound level inside the MME is 30 dB, which would be rather incredible.

Some people think if you can hear it at the screen then it's a problem, but that's silly. You you can hear down to 3 dB but anything below 50 dB isn't considered significant (hence the lower limit on the meter).

Cold weather is going to make issues with a 12v more apparent. Doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist in warmer places, just that the symptoms won't appear.
