Where all those vehicles manufactured in the US? I am thinking this plant knows which states have them and do not have them and are building accordingly. I requested no front bracket, my dealer said they took it off but the window sticker has it on so I am expecting it to be there when it arrives.
1999, 2002, 2007 F150 and 2014 Escape in Kentucky, 2011 Ranger in Minnesota, 2020 GT500 in Michigan. Only my 2016 Focus RS was made in Germany but all of these vehicles came with the front plate bracket not installed on the vehicle (dealer normally installs before delivery to customer).

Ford hasn't confirmed anything about it so we are left guessing. My previous experience (and my dealer's expectation) has been that the dealers are the ones to install the bracket, but with this car that hasn't been the case. I have not seen anything about a new law, so my guess was that so many dealers bungle the install someone at Ford was being proactive, or with the sensors etc and two holes being on the curve/bend they thought it should be done at factory instead of at dealer (same difference.) Maybe there is a little code in the order entry system to reapply the bracket? ?

Tesla certainly isn't installing them (although they would be one to resist regulation.)

I was really bummed/pissed about it once those of us own the forum realized what was happening, but it was too late to even attempt to delete it from my order so I have been getting over it (and will get the black 60s plate for a better appearance.) I don't think the bumper plugs will look great since there are 3 holes and that bend on two of them. My only other option would be to purchase in AZ or somewhere that doesn't require the plates and deal with the hassle of an out of state purchase, etc.

Not to be a jerk, but if everyone ends up with the bracket in California I actually feel a little better about it. At least I will be less likely to feel that my front end was screwed over in comparison.

I live in CA where we are required to have a front plate. Since 2002, I have ordered from the same Ford dealer, 3 trucks, 3 cars and one SUV. All of them came with the front plate bracket in a box and the dealer has a standing order from me to never install the bracket. I didn't request to have the bracket deleted because I figured it would just come in a box like the other 7 vehicles but my dealer has gotten in 3 Mach E's so far and all of them had the bracket already installed.

I am thinking there must be some new law or rule or something that if your state requires one they have to be installed from the factory? Or maybe this is just something Ford is doing at this plant? My 2020 GT500 was manufactured at the end of March last year and again came with the bracket in a box.

I'm in IL, and as is the case everywhere so far Mach Es have been delivered with the front license plate bracket already installed.

My unit is not yet in production, and I contacted my dealer and requested they delete the front license plate bracket from my order. The salesman got back to me and said the GM deleted it, and attached the following screenshot as proof. But...the front license plate bracket still shows. Has anyone had similar confirmation? I kind of feel like it's still on my order.

Also, has anyone in a state that requires front license plates had luck getting it deleted and delivered without it installed at the factory?

Front brackets are installed by the dealer not the factory. Tell them not to install it. But there might be a state law requiring dealers to install. No front plate in GA.

Again, it has been confirmed by dealers and customers that the brackets are installed at the factory on the MME for delivery to states where they are required. We aren't sure if deleting them from the order will be successful.

So my dealer gave me their demo to drive this week until I pick mine up (Waikem in Massillon) and I beg to differ on that front plate. Hoping you are right on mine!

This one is in Ohio. As of last year, Ohio doesn’t require front plates.

Too late for many of us but I reached out on twitter to one of the execs last month, crickets. Maybe you will have better luck.

I know they are super busy, but kinda strange this wasn't even considered as a potential issue since this was always (in my experience and others) a dealer install/loose accessory item.

That is my dealer FCTP - We specifically requested NO front plate on my car. I will update once I get it.

Maybe Ford didn’t get the memo.
My sales person at Germain Ford, told me all vehicles being delivered, are coming in without front plates installed. I hope he’s correct! I asked that mine NOT be installed at the factory.

Hopefully, that will be the case. Since front plates are required in my state, I'm not bothered by the factory bracket at all. But if my state didn't require them, and the bracket was installed, I'd be really annoyed.

Agreed. But what's annoying is that there are (and will be more) numerous front plate bracket options that don't require that you drill holes in the front of your brand new car. Can't understand why Ford would not let their customers decide how to mount the bracket. Sad.

I live in NJ and I've NEVER seen a Tesla with a front plate.

My dealer just got another Mach E in this past hour. My salesperson called to tell me, as with the other 3 they have gotten in, this one also came with the front license plate bracket installed. She said they have never had any vehicle come in with a front bracket already installed expect for the Mach E. Again, I live in CA
