LOL yeah, I got into the habit of driving like granny. I have had to make a conscious effort to mash it. ?‍♂?
Same for me, I baby it figuring I don’t want it to weaken and then break at the worst possible time

got a flat tire today, a bolt of some kind in the tire and tire went flat just as I was passing my dealership. Went right in, perfect timing.

I wish that could happen to the HVBJB with my MME.

So not "complete HVBJB failure"
With all due respect, picking on the OP's exact wording to describe a problem that he should not be having and that will undoubtedly significantly disrupt things for him, seems a bit insensitive. And doubly so since the occurrence of said problem was a significant safety issue that could have ended in tragedy.

I, along with (likely) 99%+ of forum members would just like to see Ford actually proactively fix this problem across the board so that it can be put behind us. Yes we know it would be expensive. Yes, we know it would take time. But honestly, I don't care and I doubt many others do either.

Please Ford, fix the HVBJB once and for all.

I am wondering how it drives with a contact stuck open? Is this the accessory negative contact? Is this an error code for a condition that happens and then it will close again? Are the contacts surfaces so distorted that they can not close fully? Stuck open is not common but it was my code that lead to a hvjb replacement. Every time it threw this code a dead 12V was also observed. Charge the 12V and the car was back as good as new. Obviously if it was a main contact stuck open it did close again because I drove it to the dealers to get the hvjb replaced. How does it fly open when driving it? If the contact is not closed the battery is not connected to the motors therefore should have never driven?

We do not need a law suit we need the NHTSA to do their job. This never ending story is way too common and is getting really old. How can anyone depend on this vehicle with this common frequent problem of a very important part.

Currently sitting on the side of the freeway. Complete HVB failure with "stop safely now" and "service soon" messages. Let the car sit for a bit but it's shot. Hour wait for a tow in 90+ degree heat. They are going to tow it to the dealer.

Dang it, it's not even a GT!!! It's the same year make and model as mine. I dislike reading about these HJVB Failures. #COMEONFORDFIXIT

Been following this and my annoyance that I have to follow this is growing. Regarding the NHTSA; has everybody here filed a complaint?

Hope it goes well. The car is out for up to two weeks, that’s definitely a complete failure.
been through it only twice. The car did feel different after the new jb went in nine months ago and I’ve driven it like a mustang since.
It is a pain. Glad it was relatively quick to get towed.

self care is in order for the weekend

For me I don’t think so.
The first replacement was with the original part. Second time was the improved version.
My breakdown was after using the same EA charger six months apart. The engineers on the forum told me it was coincidence. They did replace the charger immediately after my second fault.

Black Friday - tow truck was eight hours.
Otherwise since then it has driven like a charm and I do drive it like it’s a gt. It’s a job 1 Dec 20 premium.

well, that certainly is something. What a nightmare.
while the recent uptick in HVBJB issues is a cause for concern, mentioning @heisnuts' number of failures is not really germane since his use case is, as he's often stressed, a corner case. in fact, the data ford collected from his car will hopefully be useful in getting ford's attention and an actual fix into the pipeline.

if you haven't seen his thread on his experience it is worth a read along with any of his many comments on other threads.

Regardless of how he drives it is not acceptable that the same part keeps breaking down. It’s just a crappy part that they don’t know how to fix.
