Bump.

Has anyone got any progress on this or is it still in the stage of no transparency and ignore owners with the problem? I have nothing except that the new TSB for slow charging has nothing to do with fixing our problem. Close to 8 months now and not even the decency of acknowledgement to date. Thanks go out to @Ford Motor Company. Always loved engineers on project that were too cheap to own up to and fix their own mistakes. At least acknowledging there is a problem and they are working on it would goes a long way for creditability.
We engineers have no problem owning up to our mistakes and proposing a solution. Whether or not that solution gets to the field is up to management and their accountants.

Thank you.

So Ford is aware of this problem?

There is a solution?

Can we be given the honor of understanding what the problem is? The car struggles at this stage it is obvious.

Running my own engineering company for decades the accountants never had the final decision and the engineers were management. Our obligation usually dictated the solution and I tried to instill that in all my junior engineers. Understand it has to be hard working for Ford.

I don’t know the answers to those questions. I was just sticking up for my former profession. An engineering company would naturally be run differently than a manufacturing conglomerate.

And for the record, my car suffers this problem and I want a solution just as much as you do.

As I mentioned before I have this problem with my Juicebox up north but don’t have the problem with my Autel here in Florida. This was before the software update. I won’t know if the JB is any better since I had the SW update Until May.

why, I have no clue.

Autel charges consistently at 9+ kw before and after the SW update

^^^ Same here. I’ve mentioned several times and have included graphs showing my Emporia charges consistently at 11kW. There hasn’t been any change that I can tell and my car’s software is up to date.

That's weird I emailed my dealer

................ I need it confirmed or would love to see a steady 48 amp at your place as it would help in fixing it here. ...................

Along with this

Ford Mustang Mach-E L2 charging speed recently dropped 33% Untitled-1

Ignored. Not see myself running out to buy new chargers to test on my wiring as that does not get it fixed in an economic way. Was after a service update (same modules as power-up 6.6 and TSB charging cord stuck). Worked perfect till then.

So my 2021 Job 1 Premium 4X is at the dealer for the HVBJB recall work. To my surprise, they had a loaner for me (first time) and it was a 2023 MME CR1 ER AWD with 5700 miles on it. I tested charging on my emporia and it didn't have the stop charge after 3 minute issue, it also stayed at the full 11kwh rate for the entirety of the charge, unlike mine which will only stay at 11kwh for up to 15 minutes (when cold) then gradually slows down to 8kwh.
So either the charging hardware has some wear after 42k miles, or there's different software on the 2023 (likely) loaner.
I'll test again on my car when I get it back, they said they'll need it a week to do the HVBJB recall.

Glad they had a loaner for you but if they had the part, why a week ?

They ordered the part on January 2nd, Said it came in on the 9th. Yesterday 22nd was first day they could get my car in. They have 1 EV tech that covers both of their Ford dealerships (they have another Ford store 30 miles away), and the service advisor said this is the first HVBJB they've ever done so they're going to take their time and be extra careful. He said they will likely need it for 4-5 days and said he'll call with an update Thursday afternoon or Friday morning.

When I had the car in for the windshield and sunroof recalls last fall, it took them a full week to do those two recalls as well.

Wow, as long as they get it right the first time. I suspect though you should get it back earlier.
mine was the first at my dealer, so they said, and they had it back to me in 24 hours. Hope they did it right and all the parts were put back in the right place.

I sure hope so. I told them they can take as long as they need to make sure they do the job right. Don't rush it. I have their loaner, so I'm not at an inconvenience.
2 days have passed and no word. So hopefully they are taking their time.

Good to here that they have fixed the charging hardware on the 2023 but it appears they don't care to acknowledge those that trusted them early. I thought it was the chargers that were no good after Ford installed software to slow them down on our vehicles. ;) I would kill for a steady 8 KW mine goes down to 4. Just a disgusting display of Ford engineering and ethics. I think many have come to a conclusion about Ford and if they would purchase a Ford vehicle again. I would say there should be lots of Ford loaners out there right now.

Did they tell you they would address the slow charging also or just the defective HVBJB this time. At least you should get an E version. Some of us had to go through 2 A's and now a C and have been knock of the list of those that desire a fix.

Bump. I guess no further acknowledgement from Ford on the new software and the lower L2 speeds?
Since this popped up I’ve had many OTA updates and one of them returned the L2 to more normal speeds of 6Kw. In Jan 2024 I had several recalls performed including 23B50 Charge cord stuck reprogram and after that the charge rates are back to when I first bought the car in 2022 7Kw up to 9 Kw. I think Ford corrected with OTA and reprogramming of the charge control module.

I am on 6.4 ota with a tesla update since. Did ford release this transparently with notes or is this just a guess? I guess you do not know what update fixed it for you exactly? Hard for me to test in the winter as it is plugged in all the time due to cold and never charges more that about 30%. Hoping for the same come this spring.
