Mach-E being discontinued ?

I would have to think that most dealers just hate having to service any type of EV. When I go to service my EV at my dealership, it always seems like it’s a hassle to them (Mainly because I’m not paying for basic services like oil changes, or other engine type maintenance)

With that being said, when I had the HVBJB recall work done, I went to pick up the car, my dealer also said that they were discontinuing making them. Maybe just wishful thinking on their end.

In truth - this could happen. A 'good' car company might see the 151 vehicle day supply numbers at the beginning of March and:

• Offer incentives to get people to buy. (ford did)
• Drop the MSRP (ford did, dealers are NOT happy)
• Reduce the number of newer models they are planning to build

The other issue is the Ford President had 'issues' charging a lightning on a holiday trip in Dec with his family. As they drove with lower and lower charge they passed several Tesla Superchargers and his son asked "Daddy - why cant we stop there to charge?". So this guy called Elon Musk and they rushed through the contracts. The 2025 models will have native Tesla Supercharger connections.

So the clerk could be correct but with the wrong details: They will STOP making J1772 models and will produce models with the Tesla Supercharger connectors in 2025.

The last time I dropped my car off at the dealer for routine service, the person whose job it is to move Ford vehicles from the driveway could not work out how to start it. For five minutes. (There are knowledgeable and skilled people at dealers, but they usually don't hang out up front with the customers.)

Not at all. They are focused on clearing 2023s off the lots, but 2024s are shipping and the new rally model is set to ship later this year.
Ford has announced their focus is going to be on the lower price segment and trucks. It’s possible it will phase out or be re-platformed, but to my knowledge there has been no announcement.

Second generation Mach e has been reported to come July, 2026.

Some dealer told a Lightning owner Lightnings were being discontinued a few weeks back. Also total BS.

Dealers are full of horse excrement. Some even think that doing NHTSA recalls are optional, so telling folks the MNE and/or Lightning are being discontinued does surprise me in the slightest.

Although I think this dealer is full of it, I guess 2026 is the last year of the MME in its current form. I will also predict that it will NOT get native NACS support in the current configuration.

This is pure speculation, and I have no evidence to back it up.

Honestly, I would take a dealership saying Ford might discontinue the Mach-E as an indication that they may stop selling and servicing Mach-E's. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Ford dealer nearest to me made such a claim. They also don't sell any Mach-E's anymore.
