Do you have it set for 40 amps? Any pics of it in your garage? Looks like it has heavier cables than the Ford Mobile charger.
It’s on a 40 amp breaker so it’s set to 32. If you have a 50 amp, you’ll set it to 40. Yeah the cables are much thicker and better quality than the Ford charger.

Thanks for the pics! This is my current setup. Looks like I could mount it to the right side of my power box and then loop the 14-50 cable over to it.

I found the Juice Box 40 to be the cheapest of the quality smart chargers. I don't use the date much, but I have reaped 2 benefits. One, Pennsylvania will only give a 30% rebate on 2 charges. One is Juice Box. I believe the other is charge point. Two, when I visit my father in law, he has a 30 amp dryer outlet on his back porch. I bring the Juice Box, set it to draw 24 amps, and I can safely charge at his house (with adaptor). Unfortunately, the MME will not allow you to adjust how much power you draw while charging. With Juice Box, I could adjust it, this preventing me from burning down his house. I'm sure he appreciates that on some level. The Commonwealth of PA was only too happy to give me back part of the cost of the charging station plus installation.

Could you plug the car directly into the dryer outlet?

Here's mine. Yes, it may be the heaviest cable I've seen on a home charger.

Thanks for the pic! One more question. How long did it take to come in? Still using my Ford mobile charger but it appears to be overheating.. sometimes! It worked fine today but last time it cycled errors and was charging slower than normal!

I suspect there are few people buying a smart charger for the sole reason of seeing charging data. The top two reasons to buy a smart charger over a dumb charger are:

1) Getting a rebate, or discounted price, from your utility company.

2) Setting the charger to charge on specific days/times (as you noted).

And you can't trust FordPass to tell you that the car is locked, much less anything else.
Agree. Many of us went with one because of #1 above. In some parts of NJ (eg those areas covered by PSE&G) the cost of installation up to $1500 is covered if installing a smart charger (they don’t cover the cost of the charger but can get a 30% tax credit on that). This made it more cost effective over simply installing a receptacle and using the supplied charger. I doubt I’ll look at the data all that much but the electric co seems interested.

If anyone is interested, I've got a brand new Grizzl-E Smart Classic I'll sell for $400 plus shipping. They replaced a defective one under warranty but I retired last month and took the JuiceBox I had installed at my office. I liked the Grizzl-E, it's really well made. They aren't pictured but includes the wall plate and cord holder/holster.

Serious question for people who got/want smart charger so they can see charging data and no other reason:
What do you do with that data? Do you make any changes based on that data?

If you just want a smart charger so you can look at the numbers, I'd argue you'd be better off buying a "dumb" charger and putting that money towards something else. The car will give you plenty of numbers to look at. Fordpass will actual KWh added with each charge session. Granted, that is going to be a little less than what comes out of the wall but there are pretty good estimates available for that difference.
As others have mentioned, I got a pretty steep rebate from my power company for installing one of their featured chargers. For me, the smart chargers were about $150 cheaper than the dumb chargers (I only considered UL-listed chargers).

I also track data because I got into the habit when I was driving a junker ICE before trouble codes and useful check engine lights. When (not if) the gas mileage suddenly dropped, I knew there was some new problem that had cropped up after the last time I'd done a full check of the vehicle. This usually helped me start diagnosing before failure.

I don't *know* that I will have something similar happen in an EV, but it's a habit for me to review my vehicle efficiency numbers every month or so.

I'm also on a TOU plan and while I try to trust Ford's software developers, I have been unimpressed with FordPass and so like to have some other control over when the vehicle charges.
