It’s great you were so calm and levelheaded. Sounds like your dealer was on top of their game and I think that helps with customer confidence that things will be done the right way. Most people don’t mind working with a service department like that. I hope you get your beauty back soon.
I've serviced so many Fords there over the past 15+ years that I know my service manager and tech very, very well, and they know I'm a stickler, so they usually over-communicate to me and trust my judgment when I bring them TSBs or other issues. It really gives me peace of mind! I'm fortunate to have a dealer I can trust so close to home.

Wonder if somebody stepped on the battery cover since they just set it on the ground. I hope they ordered the foam pieces that stick on the cover in the outlined areas since the new cover doesn’t come with foam. Good heads up on the potential for cover mishandling during the repair.
Good call on the foam - just texted my tech to confirm, and he said "Ford says they come with, but we know how reliable they are." LOL! I asked him to check if they came with the first (broken upon arrival) replacement cover.

Well at least your car crapped itself in front of a BBQ place.
Lefty's BBQ is the real deal! Wife and I sat on her tailgate and stuffed our faces waiting for the tow truck. :)

It really seems like they are taking each of these cases seriously and really trying to get to the bottom of the cause of these failures.
This is not my definition of "seriously". These issues have been happening for at least 6 months and there is no resolution yet. Cars with replacement parts have started failing again. Some owners had their cars in the shop for several weeks, some even qualify for lemon law in the US.
Last but not least, roadside assistance can be a nightmare. Sometimes owners wait for hours and have to dispatch multiple tow tracks until they find one that can tow the MME appropriately. I don't get it why Ford roadside assistance does not identify and dispatch tow trucks that can handle the MME.

Last but not least, roadside assistance is a nightmare. Usually owners wait for hours and have to dispatch multiple tow tracks until they find one that can handle an EV. If things were taken more seriously, I would expect that Ford roadside would do their due diligence to identify and send the right tow truck.
I will say Ford's Roadside Assistance worked flawlessly for those things they could control. I made the first request via the app, and when they showed up and tried to extort me, I called the 800 number and the agent I spoke to was very concerned and said they would blacklist that company. The second company took a while to arrive, but they knew ahead of time it was a Mach-E and sent a flatbed. Given what Ford can actually control, I'm pretty pleased with Roadside Assistance here.

Sorry to hear about this. Does anyone know how much this repair would cost if the vehicle was out of warranty?

This is also something that would squarely fall within the 8 year, 100,000 mile electric vehicle component warranty I am assuming, not the 3 year, 36,000 comprehensive warranty.

Parts and labor will certainly climb into the thousands, even without the issues my repair has had.

I'd be shocked if these issues/components weren't covered by the 8-year/100,000-mile EV component warranty.

You are. I don’t trust the dealership closest to home for anything, and the next closest dealership (which is closest to my office) I can’t stand due to bad sales practices. Their service department is good (at least they were for my PHEV), but I still seriously dislike the dealership. ??

I agree with all that you said and I think at first they thought it might be isolated cases. But in my case Ford reached out from this board and within a couple days engineering was involved and they were working with the dealer to solve the problem. In my case my dealer thinks think they even plan on sending someone out when parts arrive, but I do not have confirmation on that.

I also completely agree on Roadside. Roadside had two tow companies cancel on them before I told them of a really good tow company in town. Roadside got that approved and I was on my way, but that took time. As you may know, Ford sublets their roadside assistance to Agero Roadside. The tow company who did pick up the car tells me Agero is one of the hardest providers to contract with and that was why they were surprised they got the job (until I told him why that happened).

The HVBJB replacement alone would be about $2,000 (parts + labor). However, the OP's issues extend to the battery cover, so that adds another chunk of change (not sure what that would cost).

Glad your towing experience went well, post extortion attempt anyway.

Even tho, I am so glad my induction to the club occurred while in the dealers hands with their tech driving and not me. I was totally oblivious sitting in the waiting room.

@MadManMoon, do you think that crack was there before they lowered the battery, or that it resulted from the lowering of the battery?

I don't there's any way to know for sure, but I suspect it happened when they removed it the first time, or maybe how it was handled or stored during the repair. In their defense, it is very, very flimsy. Very little reinforcement and very thin.
