I live in Arizona, and dealer mentioned I needed new tires (24K miles). The Ford dealer suggested buying tires from them, on the high end they suggested Michelin Primacy A/S 225/55R19XL. Did a little looking online and lots of choices. One I noticed, that is similar, and little less cost, was Michelin Pilot Sport SUV 255/55R19 11Y XL.

We have a MME is a 2021 ER AWD. Just mostly easy neighborhood driving with fairly frequent highway trips. Although Arizona summers can be pretty brutal, especially was this year. My main goals would be safety and comfort.

Anyone look at tires recently... This tire type, size, a good choice? Discounts out here to consider? A fairly significant investment from a number of perspectives, so thought I would ask.

Thoughts ?

First, you need to understand Ford's price guarantee. They will match any TIRE price. They will then charge you for TPMS sensors or rebuilds, balancing, and mounting.

Second, either get your tires measured by someone else or buy a tire measuring tool for a few bucks. Know your actual tread depth.

If you're looking at a non-EV tire, the Michelin Defender cannot be beat IMO. Wear warranty is the longest you will find.

I’ve had these for 6 months 10k miles. I have the exact same spec MME. These tires are awesome!! So quiet and good traction.

I replaced worn out factory michelins (20k miles) with Conti dws 06+.... very happy with them. Better traction wet and dry.

After extensive research I went with Michelin Pilot Sports 4S's. Probably some of the best all season tires one could put on an MME such as with my GTPE up here in the mountains of AZ.

Pilot Sport 4S is a summer performance tire. Do you mean Pilot Sport All Season 4? No matter what, both are the best in there class as far as performance goes, at least that's my opinion.

Yes, the all Season 4's, good catch sir. And yah, what a difference these tires make over the stock Pirelli's, ride quality is night and day.

Yes however it's not because they are Pirelli's, it's because the Michelin's are all seasons and any all season tire will ride better than a high performance summer tire. They have a much softer sidewall and the construction is completely different. If you would have gone with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tire, they would have rode worse than the Pirelli's but would have been a better performing tire. You have a great set of tires, enjoy them.

Appreciate all the replies. I guess first step is to get a tire thread measurement tool, as the threads don't look all the bad to me. I might have a little bit more time to make a decision on the tires. Thanks again, Joe

I'm strongly considering the Continentals when I need new tires. What width did you get?

I have a Select stock was 225-18, and upgraded summer wheels with Enkie TS-V 8.5" width, and went +1 on width for summer tires with the Conti 245-55-18
