Koons Ford Silver Spring, with the help of a Field Service Engineer and folks in Dearborn, have been able to get 21G01 to work properly. Marlin now has operating BlueCruise. My wife sent me this picture:

I'm looking forward to getting home and trying it for myself.
Check the frunk to see how many of those orange "Power-Ups" Marlin snuck in. ;)

Hey Mike, can I ask which dealer serviced your car?
Yeah, it was Autonation St. Pete. I had it there twice - once for the glass recall + 21P22 and now for the BC update. I have mostly good things to say. They gave me a rental from Enterprise once and Hertz once. They’ll call you a Lyft to get you there (about a 20 minute walk to Enterprise.) Service advisor said they only do updates on Tuesday and Friday - not sure why. They’ve been quick. First (glass) repair was 2 1/2 days and this one was 1 1/2. They missed some if the module updates on 21P22 but got them done in this one. Definitely haven’t had any nightmare stories of a week in the shop like you read here.

Hey, I had an audio cutout once about a year ago. Found a solution here that worked. It involved unplugging the fuse box - kind of like a computer hard reset. It worked. There’s a thread somewhere in here where it explains how. It’s not technically difficult. You need to open up the two plastic panels in the frunk that give you access to the 12 volt battery terminals and also the fuse box. Haven’t had a problem with it since. Not exactly sure what caused it. Disconnecting the 12 volt battery would probably fix it as well.

Good luck!

Just FYI if anyone is trying to do these, or their dealer says they are having issues:

May 2 2022 FDRS Vehicle Identification Errors- Sync Gen 4 Vehicles

FDRS users may experience difficulties when executing the Vehicle ID process on vehicles equipped with SYNC4 at this time. The FDRS team is working to resolve this issue. Monitor PTS for updates.

Having done the updates myself, my guess is that it just takes a lot of hand-holding/babysitting waiting for the next prompt. New updates often pop-up after an update is installed so you just keep having to cycle through the list until they stop coming up. If I ran a service department, I'd batch vehicles needing updates together and have one tech bouncing between several cars throughout the day doing the updates. It's a fairly obnoxious process.

I was told this dealer in particular the tech that does them only comes in on Tuesday and Thursdays

This is awesome! My only worry is how complex this update is. When I brought my car in to have 21P22 done they did 5 of the 12 modules and then tried to get out of doing anything else. I don’t think they ever read the instructions. I could see them laughing me out of the service department with this list.

Im having the same experience

Read all 72 pages of posts, and all I can say is: WHAT A MESS!!!

I had knee surgery March 21st, so I have not been able to drive for the last 6 weeks. Was released today by the doc to drive again. I was upset that the TSB 22-2117 update to get my car unstuck from Power Up 1.7.1 was released on March 22nd. But now I think I am glad I waited. TSB 22-2117 has been updated to TSB 22-2150. 21G01 for Blue Cruise has a miserable track record of successful installations. EA, non-EA seems to make a difference, which it shouldn't. FDRS software gets an update, and the service departments don't seem to be aware of them. Dealers' service departments seem to be either right on track to do this work, or just want to sell cars and tell the customers that they can't be fixed.

Tomorrow, I am going to stop by my dealer to see if they have successfully completed any of these updates. If they have done 22-2117 or 22-2150, I think I will have those done to at least get OTA working again. I will give it a few weeks to see how far the OTA updates get. If I get the latest Sync version 364 (or now 421??) and Power Up goes past 2.3.0, I will just let it do it OTA. If not, it will probably be June, and I will try my luck again at the dealership. According to the notice, 21G01 is in effect until September 30, 2022, so I have some time.

A few other things to note:

On the 21G01 notice, it lists MME affected vehicles with build dates of 02-24-2020 through 07-07-2021. Were they building MME's in February of 2020??? As I recall, you couldn't even convert a pre-order to an order for an MME until late June, 2020 and actual building of dealer and customer ordered cars didn't start until September/October of 2020.... My pre-order was placed on Jan 4, 2020, was converted to an order on June 30, 2020, was built on Feb 15, 2021 and delivered to me on March 30, 2021.

I logged in to my ford.com account and just for laughs did a search for Early Access. There was a link for Early Access enrollment. I clicked on it just to see what it would do. Right after I purchased my car I tried this and it said something like the program was full. But not yesterday! It said I was available to enroll and would I like to sign up? So I did. I have no idea now if my car will be in some Ford computer server update limbo which will require another 4-5 months of software updates to sync up with the rest of the fleet......

And finally, I read that the GUI for the Sync 4 vehicles is supposed to be fully updated sometime this year. I can hardly wait to see how smoothly that OTA update works through the Job-1, Job-2, 2022, and possibly the 2023 vehicles!!!!

Glad to be back driving!!!! I really like this car. Just wish Ford could get its act together in the software department. There were over 100 pages of problems in just one thread here for the 22-2117 TSB and now over 70 pages here for 21G01. This is simply unacceptable service from a company the size of Ford.

I had the same result with 21P22 - the first 5 out of 12 only. I didn’t know it until someone checked my VIN. I pointed that out when I brought it in for the Blue Cruise update, as doing 21P2s is part of that update if it hadn’t been done previously. I showed the service writer the printout. They made a not for the tech on the paperwork and I left all the printouts in the car. When it was done, the printout specifically listed those previously missing modules as updated.

Good luck.

Along with the email that went out to stuck 1.7.1 users to tell them the dealer can install the BC updates, 21G01 has dropped to detail the requirements and process for this update.

REASON FOR THIS COMMUNICATION To inform you that Ford Motor Company is notifying vehicle owners of an optional product improvement program on the affected vehicles. This communication will help you answer customer questions. Customers of early-launch 2021 F-150 or 2021 Mustang Mach-E with Ford Co-Pilot360™ Active 2.0 Prep Package (includes BlueCruise Prep Kit 43C/50G) will receive: • Ford Power-Up software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA) that include the BlueCruise hands-free driver assist feature, began deployment to customer vehicles in the first quarter of 2022. Software updates delivered OTA could take several weeks before all software is delivered, and the feature is fully functional. The updates also will include some new features while accelerating the pace of future features and enhancements. • Or, the option of complimentary dealer installation of the BlueCruise hands-free driver assist feature software (Dealer software installation takes 2 to 8 hours). • One (1) year of complimentary BlueCruise service once the hands-free driver assist feature is activated and functioning
So I see this thread is now up to 72 pages. I'm one of the ones with the BC installed, but no activation. Has anyone found a work around for those of us in this predicament?

Car is on day 2 of the second try at 21G01 but I just got the push notification that my BlueCruise was ready. So it seems like things were successful or are going well!

After a miserable 5 days in the shop, they are telling me there is nothing they can do. No blue cruise. No active drive assist.

Im trying so hard not to regret buying this car right now …

Send me a PM with your VIN and I can take a look and see what state your car is in, and what if anything can be done.

Do you have another local dealer that you could go to?

Seems like a lot of dealers just do the PCM (Powertrain Control, first 5 modules that run as a group), then think they are done, or that’s all they are willing to do. That’s what happened to me.
