I really want to use ford navigation to get the range estimate revision and dcfc preconditioning, but it's just terrible! Makes me want to use Android auto instead :(

Right now, I use Waze through Android Auto by default. It's not perfect from a UI standpoint but I'm used to it and have a number of saved destinations in the app. I prefer it over Google Maps (yes, I know Google owns Waze) for real time travel alerts and fuzz notifications.

The only thing it is really lacking is a SOC tie in. If I were to make a long trip, beyond the cars range, I'd likely use Ford's mapping software.

Waze until I'm about 10 miles out from a DCFC stop. Then switch to in-car nav and tell it the station you plan to stop at. I do not believe the DCFC preconditioning works any further in advance than about 10 miles / ~10 minutes.

Android Auto all the time. Have never used the ford system. Don't like the display, Gps is not accurate.

Waze--it's a little cartoon-ish, but it has the most up-to-date information on road conditions. Waze has saved me "huge" many times in the past. Like all software, every once in awhile it goes a little sideways. I just flip over to Google maps until it settles down.

I use the onboard nav. I tried google and apple maps but they randomly freeze and the screen starts randomly spinning (like it doesn't know which direction I'm facing). I've almost missed turns because the app froze. The onboard nav. has been very reliable for me.

Built-in nav. I’m not fond of google products and CarPlay looks like crap. Also, Apple Maps keeps telling me that my EV is low and I need to charge immediately (and I usually get those “warnings” when my battery is > 80% ?)

Just finished a 2250+ mile round trip from western NC to Minneapolis via north Chicago. I manually checked with plugshare, but used Apple maps during the ride. Had only one major kurfuffle when it sent me to a non-existent charger in Cincinnati but it was an annoyance, not a disaster. I did like the way it knows where the chargers are in the parking lot. Also, the destination SoC is very conservative when starting the next leg, but then increased as I got closer, sometimes as much as 5%. Be advised, I drive like the old lady I am ?

Never even tried Android Auto.

Locally, I use the navigation.

For a trip, I plan in ABRP on a PC, then save it. I then save it to Excel, and copy it into Google Sheets on Google Drive. I look up every location on PlugShare, and then save that link on the sheet (and alter the route if necessary).

During the trip, I run Ford's navigation on the big screen.
I run ABRP on my phone in a holder I can view.
My wife runs GoogleMaps on her phone to make sure of detours, etc. And she checks locations using the links I saved for the chargers.

Between the two Mach-Es, and now the Lightning, we've driven over 10,000 miles this way.

In May, I did a 2K mile trip to California and back. Used Apple Maps on CarPlay and it worked great. Told me when and where to charge, guided me in parking lots.

Mine does this as well. I have missed turns or turned the wrong way due to it. I wonder what is causing it? Sometimes it seems like the map will un-freeze and "wake up" when I wake my phone screen. Whatever it is it needs to be fixed. Map reliability is a must.
