Is there a site that shows if the recall was cleared for your vehicle?

Link please. Who develops software for all due to a few with defective parts just makes no sense. What they were forced to say in the recall is where my speculation remains.
The link is the Ford notice of FAQ about the recall notice itself:
The cause was part to part variation leading to some contactors not being robust enough. Since there has been a 0.6% failure rate over about 2 years, so far 99.4% of the contactors have been robust enough. But statistically some small percentage will fail in the future, thus the software update to try and detect them before they cause the car to brick.

The part is rated for 500 amps continuous. DCFC hits that or lower. But heats it effectively to full temperature. Then you get in and drive sanely and it should be fine. If you then get in and pull 750A constantly (Premium) or 900A (GT) etc you will QUICKLY exceed it’s design capactity and risk failure. Ford likely originally expected this and had some dial back programmed in. I suspect this update makes it engage that faster. That’s all.
Interesting. Very informative (obviously speculation but still you worded that well). Now I’m just angry Ford under-engineering this vehicle.

Well, you can't get this conclusion. Few cars have reached 2 years old, most are under 1 year. It's also possible this issue shows up more on older cars as the part age. It could be 0.1% for cars under 1 year, but 10% over. Without detailed data we can't make conclusion.

+1
This is very possible since there is implied cumulative damage in the recall notice.

Piggybacking on this, is there anything folks can do who can't get the recall and have long trips planned that require regular DCFC, say 3-5x/day? E.g. stop vehicle and wait a few minutes before and after DCFC, don't charge past 80%, etc. Or use Whisper/Engage instead of Unbridled.

I can't get the recall until 7/11 and have a big trip coming up this weekend that I really want to take and renting/flying/taking Amtrak aren't options for various reasons I won't get into here.
You’ll probably be fine. It’s a very rare problem (about 0.5% of MME’s). I’m taking a 1200-mile trip this weekend - although I did manage to get the recall applied today, I wouldn’t have changed my plans just because of this.

If I were you, I would:

1. Wait for a bit before driving away from a DC charging station
2. Avoid aggressive acceleration right after DC charging
3. Avoid aggressive acceleration in general
3. Reverse into the DC charging spot just in case you have really bad luck and need to get towed (the car is most easily towed from the front)

Thank you.

I just checked and I see this:
7198349D-109A-419D-887C-27A17F58ED3D.png

Does that mean my MME wasn’t affected by the recall or that they’ve fixed it already?
Probably not. The OTA hasn’t gone out yet, so you haven’t had it fixed yet. I called my dealer last week and they confirmed that I needed it.

You should assume you need the recall. I think Ford said all MME’s need it.

Oh crap. Cell service sucks audibly (you can actually hear the suctioning sound) in my garage. That's why I put a WIFI router/repeater near the garage. Is this going to keep me from getting, like, any updates, um, ever???
Your car will download the update while you’re out driving around in areas which actually have cell coverage. Mine goes that in the background. It doesn’t install a thing until an appropriate time.

I called my dealer and the service lady said that they don't have the parts in stock. ?

I told her that it was a software update and she responded with, "we don't have the software yet". ?

What a clown show.
Some people on Reddit were told “we don’t have the welding equipment to weld if”

A fellow forum member with FDRS helped me out and let me update my car with the new software. No real perceptible change in how the car drives, but I couldn't really stomp the go pedal for very long since it was rush hour on the way home. No effect on my saved charging location (just one). ??

Okay. I'll bite. What does it say about they way I drive this car that I had failed contactors in less than a year with a Select SR AWD?
