Why would you need to swap? Unless everyone else jumps in and uses it or plans get reworded as currently to get any of the government funds being thrown around like confetti towards ev infrastructure chargers will need to support CCS so to get maximum coverage you will still need to have adapter in the trunk just from NCAS to CCS.I hate adapters and if Ford is going all in on NACS, then I'd rather be on the newer standard that's supported moving forward. I was hoping to keep this car more than 3 years so I'm willing to eat that retrofit cost to keep it longer.
Unless every other manufacture announces a move to NACS over the coming months this just comes across as Ford trying to stay relevant IMO, Farley has already being banging on about not being on board with larger batteries and how the 2 row BEV space is crowed. Seems the current Ford plan going forward is to just focus on larger 3 rows, with bugger all range and slap a Tesla charge port on it as a way to try and temp people to purchase them.
