Makes me laugh even harder at the ford employee that told someone using the A2Z adapter would void your warranty - gotta use this defective Ford one instead. Also, gotta love that Tesla quality.
The really don’t like having 3rd party do better than them!

I was using it the NACS/CCS other day, it was slightly hot to touch after a charge, but not seriously hot. My MAch-e is a standard range, so it probably spends most of its time charging at 85kw.

I guess I'll go back to using my A2Z adapter.

Anyone else get this email?
Ha Ha!
Is it possible that the “unapproved” adapters from A2Z or Lectron are more robustly engineered and manufactured than the “approved” one that’s been assumed by many to be the safer choice?
I’m curious whether any of the folks who have compared the three side by side have done any comparative temperature tests after say 20-30 minutes of high current charging. Of all the articles and videos I’ve seen, I don’t recall anyone mentioning operating temperature analysis. It seems as though the potential charge port damage is only theoretical, since I can’t remember anyone reporting here of charge port damage after use.

As a part of ongoing testing, your adapter has been identified by Ford to have a potential issue that may result in reduced charging speeds over time, and in some cases, charge port damage. As such, Ford does not recommend using the adapter initially supplied to you with any vehicle from this time on, and we will be sending you a replacement.

Please check FordPass® or the in‑vehicle Public Charging app for other charging options within the BlueOval Charge Network™ while we expedite your replacement adapter.

Ford will supply a replacement adapter in the coming weeks and provide return instructions to send back your existing adapter – both at no cost. It is imperative that we receive all adapters affected to reduce the risk of potential vehicle damage.
Just got that email too. Wondering how long we’ll now have to wait for the replacement, considering that initial orders are being delayed a couple months already…very frustrating ?

I was reservation 1,1XX and I didn’t receive an email. I’m wondering if this was a bad batch somewhere in between?

the question is how long until we get our replacements and do the replacements jump in line ahead of all the other active orders?

I was 1,080 (or very near there, it was in the 80s) and got the email.
