- Renault Zoe & Pre-ordered Mach E
I wouldn’t be surprised if this problem goes away with a firmware update of some kind. My wife has a new Renault Zoe and in certain situations it would refuse to take a charge and it looked like 12v battery problems. Of course it would always happen when the traction battery was low. It seemed to happen when traction battery was less than 40% and in chilly weather. Zoe’s have been around forever so I really didn’t expect this to be resolved by a short dealer trip and a quick firmware update, but it was. Google was little help even though the Zoe had been around for a while!
I guess what I’m saying is there is a LOT of software in a modern car and especially an EV and it will have bugs no matter how well it is factory tested. They are usually quick fixes and the mustang has OTA updates, unlike the Zoe, so it will hopefully be fixed without too much drama. It’s hard not to get wound up when this sort of thing happens though.
