Too much hassle. I think I’ll rely on roadside assistance.
The Mach E comes with complementary roadside assistance, including jumping your car.

This is another thing someone needs to test. The theory is that there is relay logic that this would only activate if the 12 V batter is dead.
The wiring diagrams I've seen show that there is a cutoff to the bumper leads so they are only active if the LVB is too low for the car to operate.

short term fix might be wiring an AGM battery in parallel with the mfg 12v battery and leaving it in the frunk for the winter.... agm is not as sensitive to cold, and the extra capacity in the cold might help.

second option might be a little heating pad under the 12v battery
The car comes with an AGM battery.

Anyone that has removed covers and recharged their battery, was it a deep cycle or short cycle high amp battery?
Here's a photo of the battery. Sorry the part number is cut off.

I posted this elsewhere - but wouldn't this work to get you both into the frunk and jump the battery?
Short answer is that yes it would work. You don't need to turn the engine just get the computer started. I just wish there was a physical key to get into the trunk, which is the obvious place to store something like this.

Catching up on this thread here:

Very interesting the FordPass app indicated the 12v was charging. Was your Mach E connected to the EVSE at that time? If not, it shows yours was doing the right thing and charging the LVB off the HVB. When was yours built?
It was connected to my EVSE. It had been plugged in all evening, but not charging since I set it to wait until midnight to start charging. Right at midnight, it started charging the 12volt battery and not the drive battery. A little bit later it started charging the high voltage battery.

So how hard is it to take off the frunk cover? Just seem like a cut out for the terminals would have made life a lot simpler. Less pleasing but more functional.

I didn't order my car so I just looked up its history.

It's a pain, especially in the dark at 25°.

As I said, they already have those panels at the back of the headlights. They really should have 1 large or 2 small access panels to reach the jump connectors.

12/18 production date makes it four days older than mine.

Related question: Does this mean that any clown with a a 12V power source can access our frunk?
This is another thing someone needs to test. The theory is that there is relay logic that this would only activate if the 12 V batter is dead.
This has already been discussed on this forum many times over the past few months. The answer is that, no, it won't work, unless your 12V battery is already dead. And you wont' be able to get into the car itself without the Fob.

I thought I read somewhere the battery was Li to save weight.... but AGM makes more sense because of Li sensitivity to cold.

the 'danger/poisen' sticker confirms it is AGM..... and the 35ah indicates it is just pretty small. If this is a temperature related problem with reduced capacity rather than an equipment or sensor error not charging, then the easy fix might be a 12v battery warming pad underneath..... or a directly wired 12v heating pad 'wrap' for the winter it would self-consume some energy, but would keep the battery nice and warm if the frunk area was freezing....

https://www.amazon.com/Upgrade-Version-Facon-Automatic-Thermostat/dp/B077VLB1KK/ref=sr_1_8?

these little pads are 12"x18", and cost $40.... wire it directly to the 12 battery terminals for the winter if you live in a super cold place.... kinda like a block heater for diesel. ;)
