Trade in value has absolutely shit the bed the last month. KBB says 38-42k for my 2021 GTPE with 15k miles. Carvana just offer $30,350 to sell to them. So now I’ll like drive it until 100k plus miles some I’ll lose my ass trading it in. Debating on getting the grainger extended warranty soon
I would and check with Ziegler too. Last time I checked they had better prices.

Use coupon code save100 or if your not using financing payinfull gets a $250 discount

As for how long I m keeping it until 2026 or early 2027. I get a work allowance for a vehicle and it needs to be 5 years or newer.

I have been looking at the the Fisker Alaska, Canoo pickup truck, or a Porsche Macan EV.

I’ll keep my 2021 First Edition until a new EV comes along that meets these criteria…

  1. Still needs to be a Crossover / SUV form factor. I like the space and sitting a little higher on the road.
  2. Still needs to be stylish inside and out. I will not accept the bubble / blunt-nosed dorkmobile styling, or cheap interiors.
  3. A nice cushy suspension (the Mach E’s “sport tuning” is definitely not this).
  4. Well-insulated, quiet cabin (Mach E is pretty good in this regard).
  5. 350mi+ Range at 75mph.
  6. 15min DCFC from 10% to 90%.
  7. At least 3mi/kWh highway and 4mi/kWh city efficiency.
  8. “Level 2.5” ADAS (Eyes-on but otherwise self-driving on highways, including nav and truly automatic lane changes).
  9. No more than $60k (adjusted for inflation, probably closer to $80k).
These specs will require the next big jump in battery tech, hopefully in the next 5-10 years.

Isn't option 3 and 5 the same? I'm pretty sure that rust will tear us apart before there will be a working frunk button (They even gave me FOBs with a frunk button - 2 years ago).
Are these Mustang-branded fobs? Or are they just generic (likely F-150) Ford fobs?

Based on current resale value I'll probably have to keep it until 100k at least

The Mach E was my first full immersion into the EV world.
Without looking for miracles or a perfection, it met my expectations and needs that I anticipated from an EV. Ford did a good job.
My Lightning was another surprise.
I am still enjoying, playing and learning from my Mach E premium EX. I plan to keep it for a few more years. Let us see what Ford has to offer in the next 3-4 years.
Right now, and for the next 3 years, I am keeping my EVs. I am living very well with them.
Good Job Ford.

Yes. There is a Pony on the FOB.

Yes. There is a Pony on the FOB.
The back of the FOBs are interchangeable between F-150 and Mustang. So, I bought an F-150 FOB with the frunk button and swapped the back from my MME FOB.

Personally I want something similar in utility to the MME but with much longer range.

There are two alternatives that are on my short list: the Rivian R1 DM Max Pack, or the Lucid Gravity (which has yet to be revealed). Everything else that is out or coming out has very few advantages over my car that is two years old. And none have any meaningful range improvement except the two I mentioned.

I really love my MME and still as of today there are almost no vehicles that do what it does better. Faster charging? Meh. When you are fighting for a charger the speed is almost irrelevant to me.

The MME charge rate is fast enough. And with the tow bar I installed and the sway bars, this car is just about perfect. Except range. I hate public charging. Hate. More range means less public charging.

Plan to keep mine until 2027 or 2028 or until they start having EVs give you 400 to 500 on a full charge with a good price tag on it.

I always kept my ICEVs until they were paid in full and then at least a year beyond that.

I get the feeling, being a BEV, the Mach-E might last longer than the average Ford vehicle. I also feel the longer you keep a BEV, the more the lower maintenance and "fuel" costs work in your favor.

That is a very good question. My Ford Options Lease will be up in May of 2025. It will depend on if all the kinks were finally worked out by then. Still get annoying surprises which require multiday stays at the dealer every few months.

I doubt it would be worth buying it out and then selling it. Might pick up a used Mach-e GTP. Of course, we'll see what else is available when I have to make my decision.

How's that for a wishy-washy answer? :p:D:rolleyes:;)

How long are you going to keep your Mach-E?
Since trade in values are plummeting, do you keep it and pay it off or trade it in and get something newer/something else?
My criteria for keeping the MME has nothing to do with accumulated mileage, nor whether a better EV comes out (there will always be better somethings in every case), nor refresh models. I planned to drive the EV for around ten years (passed two years in August) and then look at prominent variables that could influence a decision including my own physical state of being.

For me I plan on keeping my 2023 MME until about 2030 or something close to that. My big look for my next car will be when there is a notable jump in battery technology that enables better range then currently.
