MPH isn‘t a good measure of charging rate since the miles you can drive per kWh can vary greatly.

That being said, at 6.5kW you get 6.5kWh in an hour. If you get 3.1 miles per kWh, that’s 20 miles. Which part isn’t accurate?
ohhhh. Man I just needed it laid Out like that to understand. I feel dumb now. Thank you so much!

Over the weekend I did a 75% to 90% charge in the driveway, in the sun and 80's exterior temperature. It maintained 11 kW the entire time, no throttling. So it appears not every car has this problem. I will be paying closer attention when I charge to see if it pops up.
Same as you Mike. I charged this afternoon from about 75% to 90%. My car is in the garage and it is 82˚ in there. I have the charger set to 48A charge rate and it maintained an average of 11.3kW. I have not seen any fluctuation or reduction in any of the times I have charged recently. Below, I took a couple of screen shots from starting at 1:20 PM and ending at 2:20 PM and you can see it never fluctuated.

Oh fantastic! I't not just me lol.
Tesla on the other hand is sending me a new WallConnector, should have it this week. Will find out if that's the case. My car has never thrown a code but it's done this probably for a while, but only time I noticed was once I could log the charge.

When I let the car do this for about an hour. I pulled the connector and stuck my finger into the j1772, in the middle. None of those connectors were over 105 degrees Id say. So the over heating isn't at the plug unless it's on the other side of the plug connection headed to the charger (in the car).

With nights hitting 10 to 13C (50F) here I think charging would be stopped dead in Arizona.
I'm getting an avg of 28amps out of 40 now, kinda close to stopped

From what I can see it might be only affecting 2021 Job 1 cars.
Interesting observation. I have a job 1 and my charge rate is deprecated most of the time. I’ve charged 5 times in the month of June on my FCCS.
7KW
10KW
7KW
7KW
10KW dropping to 7 after about an hour.

So it’s not consistent. My garage is always 75-80F.

I can confirm that my Job 1 has been varying the rate since the latest update. On my last charge it started at 40A, ramped down to 32A, then at the end ramped back up to 40A. I have seen it vary between the two levels during charging.

I have a 48A charger also, but have not plugged it into that one yet to test it. Might try it later today. FYI, it finally is close to 110F in Phoenix, but we are having another cool summer so far, second one in a row. It has been running the cooling fans pretty hard lately during charging.

I have also seen this behavior with the recent updates. I first noticed this right after I got 4.2.6 (which included 22S41), but I had also gotten 23-PUO105-DC-CHG2 shortly before that. Anyway, here's two screen shots of my house power, monitored by my solar installation. The first shows a steady ~9.5kW draw, consistent with 40A out of my L2 charger (Grizzl-E). The second shows an erratic behavior, starting at 9.5kW, but dropping down to below 7kW. (I'm subtracting off my ~0.5kW baseline house usage at night).

Mine is a Job 2 2021, and no issues. You may be correct.

I have my Mach-E set to charge at 32amps. I have seen no change in rate. Nor am I seeing fluctuation. The other day I raised the rate to 48amps to see if it would throttle it back, and it didn't (only ran it for a couple of minutes). But mine is a 2022 (very early job 1 2022).

We should poll this (unless engineering knows they only forked over only the Job 1's again)
I've dropped down to 32, it dropped down to 24. I have a replacement EVSE on the way. According to the WallConnector the handle and mcu were nearly 165 degrees. * Note the Tesla WallConnector's operating temp is only up to 140 degrees. I still can't find a PID for the charger plug temp sensor.

Interesting to note I'm having to charge on 110 using the mobile charger when in Flagstaff. Last night I could hear the cooling pumps running but no fans about 70 degrees ambient temp. The other day it was probably 85+ the vents and fans came on when plugged in. The battery was probably heat soaked to about 90.

It's probably something stupid with the way they named temp sensors in the modules. tempProbe1 vs temProbe1. Or someone reused a variable name and we're all paying for it. Well the Job1 Frunkless Frunk Crew anyhow.

I have a 2022 GT

Every charge session up to 6/7/2023 looks like this:
Ford Mustang Mach-E L2 charging speed recently dropped 33% 1687895691511

Every charge session on and after 6/8/2023 looks similar to this:
Ford Mustang Mach-E L2 charging speed recently dropped 33% 1687895526558

What happened on June 8th? First Priority Update 23-PU0105-DC-CHG2 and then Ford Power-Up 4.2.6

More likely to be 4.2.6 which included SOBDM on-board charger software.

Has anybody with charge rate issues tried doing a 12V reset to see if that resolves it?
