not an investment, but… if you want own a comfortable, spacious, good looking car, loaded with tech, then Mach E was one hell of a great buy (at least before the tax credit and pricing changes).Oh and cars are not an investment. If you believe they are, I've got a frunk button to sell you.
Maybe by then Toyota will have those "always 5 years out" Solid State Batteries ready to go. ?For me I plan on keeping my 2023 MME until about 2030 or something close to that. My big look for my next car will be when there is a notable jump in battery technology that enables better range then currently.
Yeah, but it's kind of remarkable that I'm nearly to three years of ownership, and another model has still not emerged as truly superior (at least insofar of checking all my particular boxes of size, comfort, exterior appearance, interior comfort, range, and price). My criteria for keeping the MME has nothing to do with accumulated mileage, nor whether a better EV comes out (there will always be better somethings in every case)
Yeah, this is a very good point. I sure hope you're right about continuing to support SYNC through the end of 24. There are still some niggling little bugs and deficiencies that need to be worked out. If the software feels clunky and antiquated, that could drive me to upgrade earlier, but I really don't want to.2 years and 24K miles so far. (21 job 1) No plans to change it out at the minute.
However, software changes everything... so a lot depends on what they do with software support over the next year or two and what bugs are ignored or newly created at that time. My expectation is that they will continue to do small refinements through at least 24... as the modules are still in new production cars. We will see... When I sense that the car has finally become a time capsule I'll take a harder look at what alternatives exist and whether I can live with it "as is" long term at that time.
Agreed! What would be a smart move by Ford would be:Yeah, but it's kind of remarkable that I'm nearly to three years of ownership, and another model has still not emerged as truly superior (at least insofar of checking all my particular boxes of size, comfort, exterior appearance, interior comfort, range, and price).
